Bienvenue. Welcome to Le Petit Moulin
Sara and Simon would like to welcome you to Le Petit Moulin, their beautiful French chambre d’hote with self-catering gites. This delightful property is situated in the Deux-Sèvres department, 10 minutes from the main N10 Poitiers to Bordeaux route. It’s also close to the historic port of La Rochelle, and under an hour to the amazing Futuroscope park in Poitiers. Because of its close proximity to the French Atlantic Coast, this area is extremely popular with visitors from across Europe.
Located in the picturesque village of Sainte Soline, Le Petit Moulin is a 5 minute drive from the popular market town of Lezay. Every Tuesday the town is buzzing with locals and visitors attending the farmer’s market, and Lezay’s is one of the largest in the area. For visitors, the markets are probably one of the most authentic French experiences you could ever find. Typical French outdoor markets are a mix between a farmers’ market and a traders’ market. So as well as stalls offering local produce straight from the farm, you can also buy fresh bread, wine, dried fruits, and cheese.
Relax and unwind
During the summer, the fields surrounding Le Petit Moulin are ablaze with sunflowers. But it is the peace and tranquillity here that provides a wonderful respite from the stresses and strains of everyday life. Le Petit Moulin is the perfect place to relax, unwind and recharge your batteries.
Self-catering gites
The two charming, family-sized, self-catering gites are brimming with character and have been tastefully renovated. Both gites are fully-furnished and offer guests all the comfort and facilities of a home-from-home. They vary in size, ‘Le Papillion’ sleeps 8 people, and ‘Le Martin-Pecheur’ sleeps 6. So they are perfect for families and groups of friends who want to get away together. Both gites have their own private garden, and a barbecue area with picnic tables.
Bed and breakfast
If you are looking for a quiet weekend, or mid-week break, why not choose one of the B&B rooms? The ‘Tournesol’ sleeps two people, or the ‘Bergerie’ room can comfortably accommodate a family of four. Both rooms have en-suite shower rooms. plus their own outdoor space with barbecues, tables and chairs.
If you fancy a break from cooking, Simon and Sara also provide evening meals, lunches or picnics upon request. Alternatively, there are lots of great local cafes and restaurants where you can try some of typical French cuisine.
